Sensei Tina Stevens, (4th Dan)
began her training under Hanshi Renzie Hanham in Christchurch (8th dan), New Zealand in
1981. In 2002, she competed in the
International Benefit Tournament where she was awarded Sogo (comprehensive achievement) after placing 1st
in Kata (forms), 1st in Kumite (fighting) and 2nd in
breaking. In 2003, she has attended the annual Black Belt Seminar at Honbu, Seido’s international headquarters in New York City, and was graded to 3rd Dan during a visit by Kaicho Tadashi Nakamura (9th dan). She has also competed in Japan and New Zealand, taking 1st and 2nd place in Kata and Kumite (contact) respectively. |
